Transmission Core Rules

Transmission Core Rules

General core rules, every build must have a core.

  • Core must be complete and buildable, significant missing or unusable hard parts will get added to the final invoice, we will take pictures of the problem hard parts and share with the customer.
  • Stock chevy bell builds must have chevy bell core or an upcharge will be added to the final invoice.
  • Cores with bellhousings previously cut off must be cut well, any case that has damage that we do not find acceptable we will document and send to the customer then swap the case to a like for like case when possible, there will be an upcharge for the case swap added to the final invoice.
  • Core can be dirty, greasy, full of fluid, everything gets drained and cleaned.
  • Strip cores when they get dropped off, remove yokes, bellhousings (steel/ultra), shifter brackets, can leave aftermarket tail housings.
  • Tail lengths can be swapped, there will be a minor upcharge for the swap and tail tapping if the new tail length needs it. This applies to mid length TH375s regardless of the new length of tail housing.
  • Majority of cores will have minor issues, pre ran derbied cores typically have unsavable pumps or other major issues, expect to pay for the replacement hard parts, it is typically better to find another fresh core.
  • We try our best to keep a range of cores on hand to be able to keep builds on track. There is a possibility that hard parts have to be ordered and the build will be delayed in the event we do not have cores on hand.
  • 4wd cores are acceptable but a charge will be added for a 2wd tailshaft of choice.
  • Aftermarket case builds still need a buildable core.
  • If there are any core questions call or text.
